The sweet ones :)

I moved some things around and organized the kids play area a bit. James told me it reminded him of his school, so now all he wants to play is school.

Playing school with Ada. He was the teacher and Ada the student, incase you were wondering. :)

A happy student she was.

Saturday Mornings

Photobucket

Sometimes on Saturday mornings I feel this desire to make it feel like a Saturday morning for James. Saturday morning cartoons, maybe something a little sweet for breakfast, a cozy spot, hanging out in jammies a little longer than usual. I think it is probably just me that likes that feeling. :)

Winter craft

All of this snow is really getting me into the Christmas spirit. I am so excited for Christmas!! I really just want to whip out all of the Christmas stuff, including the tree. Pretty sure Caleb would think I was crazy...I can wait a week! :) In the mean time, James and I made some wintery (forget Thanksgiving!) window clings. These were super easy, and fun.

I am not going to lie, I pretty much had to do the whole project by myself.
All you do is get some puff paint. I got white, but really wanted a sparkly white. (I got home and realized I bought the wrong one, it worked fine though). Draw out some snowflakes on paper. Put wax paper over the paper and trace the snowflake shape with the puff paint onto the wax paper. That sentence is confusing.
Get a cookie sheet.
Put down the piece of paper you drew the snow flakes on.
Then put a piece of wax paper over that sheet of paper so you can see the snowflake threw the wax paper.
Take your puff paint and trace the snowflake on the wax paper. (I found it works best if you draw kind of thicker lines...it makes the peeling part easier).
Let it dry overnight
Once dry, carefully peel and stick on a window. James helped with this process. He also did the tracing with puff paint with my help.
I think I am going to make a million of these and stick them all over the joint.
YAY CHRISTMAS!!!

Our weekend

Thursday: We finally got around to raking our yard. It seemed to be just in the nick of time too. It was a nice cool day. While we were all outside our neighbor came over to ask if we had electricity. It didn't surprise me that we didn't have any. We live in an old, historic part of town. All of the houses in our area are really old. Apparently the electricity or wiring is really old too. We have went without power at least 10 times since the beginning of summer. Normally it is only out for a couple hours or so. I think it was maybe out for like 3 or 4 this time. Not that big of deal.

James helping Caleb rake.

Ada wanting me to get that stuff out of her mouth. Or maybe she was just showing off what she was eating. So proud.

Fast forward a couple days of kids who were sick then not sick, then sick again (Ada). She had diarea and was throwing up, with an ear infection to top the cake. We come to Saturday. Good bye fall, hello winter. We got dumped with 12 or so inches overnight from Friday to Saturday. It continued to snow all day Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday night rolls around and we loose electricity again, this time we knew it was from the wet, heavy snow. There were a lot of Minnesotans with out power. We go the whole night without power. Luckily, the house stayed warm enough, with heavy blankets, to sleep comfortably with no heat. I guess I don't know how comfortable James was. He decided to catch the tummy bug that is going around our house and puke all over. In the pitch black. With no electricity. That was interesting. The following pics were taken Sunday morning.

Sunday morning rolls around and still no power. It started to get colder in the house. I had a photo session at 1pm. Came back and what do you know? 2pm, still no power. Our neighbor had called the electric company that morning and they said that our power was supposed to be on at 9am. Well, at 2pm it was still off. Caleb called the electric company and they were estimating it would be back on MONDAY EVENING. We knew we couldn't do another night in our house. So we got a hotel room.
We arrived at the hotel room not too long after check in at 3pm. I don't think we realized how cold and crabby everyone was until we got to that room and cranked the heat. Our cheeks turned bright red from the temperature change. I think we may have turned it up a little too high. We all kind of started over heating a little. Hence the pics with shirtless kiddos.

Ada was obsessed with her new little friend.

Cuddly, Cozy.

James thought the whole thing was really fun, so did Ada. James and I hit the pool and did a little swimming before bed. I had two tuckered out little ones that's for sure!

- And yes, I am labeling this one as vacation. It will probably be a while until we actually have one, so why not! :)

Hello winter!

An organized mess

Just a little look inside my head...
My intentions are great. Print out a nice, crisp, to-do list. And this is what it ends up looking like. I guess it just has multiple uses... Ada's chew toy, coaster, scratch paper, a place to keep my thoughts, oh, and a place to write down things I need to do. I will get there someday...I hope.

This and That

Summer is winding down. I have mixed emotions about this. I am not looking forward to the freezing temps, and bundling the kids in 14 layers. I am however, starting to get really excited for Christmas. This will be Ada's first Christmas, and I just love our little family dynamic.

My photography business really boomed this summer, which I am so grateful, and to be honest a little dumbfounded. I am not complaining though! I am excited to get back into blogging. My photography has pretty much taken over all of my computer time. When the temps start to drop, the photo sessions will be scarce and I will have more time to take pics of my babes and catch up on my blogging! I still have a lot of editing to do, so be patient with me and this blog! In the mean time, take a look at my work on my Facebook page... http://www.facebook.com/shotsbybridge and "like" me while you are there!

So fresh and so clean, clean! My little robed wonders. And Ada showing off some rolls.

A little pumpkin action

James decided he wanted to paint one pumpkin and carve the other this year.

Unlike last year, he wasn't afraid of "the goop."

It was still gross, but he would atleast touch it.

He did so well sorting them. Until he mixed them all together again. :)

I am pretty sure this sleepy eyed babe is still asleep in this pictures. She is such a little goober!

Atleast she is a happy goober!
