Crazy Garage Salers! oh I guess I am one of them :) (not so) Wordless Wednesday

This morning my friend Sarah and I were headed to Target when we got really excited over a garage sale sign. The sign said it wasn't until 4pm, so we made plans to go later. We arrived at the garage sale on this TUESDAY at 4PM on the dot. Much to our surprise to find this...
I really wish I had my regular camera, this was taken with my phone. The whole thing is, this is only about 1/4 of the amount of cars there, there were cars to my left and cars behind me. There was at least 100 cars at this garage sale just when it opened!!!! I am sorry if I sound like a crazy lunatic, but I could not believe my eyes! Recession? What Recession?

Wordless Wednesday: needle felting

My newest craft adventure is needle felting. It is super fun, inexpensive, and a good stress reliever! My good friend Sarah introduced me.

You take unspun wool (roving), which you can purchase at any yarn store, and a special needle to create shapes and things to be used alone or can be applied as a design in a felted project. To create these, you simply use a poking motion with the needle into the roving (on a piece of foam) which interlocks the fibers and manipulates it to form shape. It is way easier than it sounds...

Wordless Wednesday: Current Conditions

Beautiful day, no? On my way back from Walmart this morning. Notice the temp sign to the left says 32 degrees. Pretty gloomy blustry day. You may want to click to see it bigger if it will let ya.

In Need of Ideas!/ Wordfull Wednesday

Winter is approaching. Ugh.

It's not so much the weather itself that I am dreading, it's what comes with it. My fear: James will be stuck indoors staring at the same four walls for the next five months. Or worse, the TV...oh how he loves his shows. With the economy, I also want to figure out things to do with little or no money.
C'mon dear reader gimme what ya got! I thought this would be fun. Swapping ideas on what to do with kiddos. If you have kids leave a comment and give an idea of what fun things you do or did that doesn't cost a whole lot of money. If you don't have kids, what did you do for fun when you were little? Fun little games? Creative craft projects? Places to go? Fun things to pass the time! Then if you are looking for ideas check out the comments section right under this post! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

A couple things we do for free or practically:
~We live in a very small town, we do have a Walmart though. If we are itching to get out of the house and don't have much gas to go far we will go to Walmart and walk around. We look at the fish and plants, check out the toys and what not.
~Whip out the paints. If James is in a crafty mood I plop him in his highchair and hand him a paint brush. I got these blank white cards that come with envelopes in the craft section at Walmart. Pretty cheap, around $5.00 and you get a lot. I have James paint, color, or stick stickers on them and save them for when we need a birthday or other greeting card.

Please share your ideas!
