Georgie today...

Sorry this is coming in so late, I had a fun, busy day! We all decorated gingerbread houses the other day and last night Georgie decided he needed to get a closer look at them.

James' Birthday Party

James' current obsession is Legos. Anything Legos. It was only apropriate to throw a little Lego twist into his birthday party. We all had a great time with wonderful family and friends. We are so lucky.

Feeling Crafty

I think I am going to try (TRY being the key word) to post more crafty stuff on here. Here is my most recent knitting project...

Winter craft

All of this snow is really getting me into the Christmas spirit. I am so excited for Christmas!! I really just want to whip out all of the Christmas stuff, including the tree. Pretty sure Caleb would think I was crazy...I can wait a week! :) In the mean time, James and I made some wintery (forget Thanksgiving!) window clings. These were super easy, and fun.



I am not going to lie, I pretty much had to do the whole project by myself.
All you do is get some puff paint. I got white, but really wanted a sparkly white. (I got home and realized I bought the wrong one, it worked fine though). Draw out some snowflakes on paper. Put wax paper over the paper and trace the snowflake shape with the puff paint onto the wax paper. That sentence is confusing.
Get a cookie sheet.
Put down the piece of paper you drew the snow flakes on.
Then put a piece of wax paper over that sheet of paper so you can see the snowflake threw the wax paper.
Take your puff paint and trace the snowflake on the wax paper. (I found it works best if you draw kind of thicker lines...it makes the peeling part easier).
Let it dry overnight
Once dry, carefully peel and stick on a window. James helped with this process. He also did the tracing with puff paint with my help.
I think I am going to make a million of these and stick them all over the joint.

bird feeders

I remember doing this when I was a kid, so I though I would try it with James.

Above are the supplies you need. You will also need some string or something to hang from a tree.

Now, this was the part I couldn't remember as a kid. How did we hang them from the tree? How did the birds eat it if there was no where for them to sit? Well, we hung them from this hemp cord, and I also made a little perch for the birds to sit on. I never saw one bird eating from them and the second day they were up, overnight they were ripped off the tree. The cord was still there. I am thinking a raccoon or bear got them! It was fun for James to make them anyway!

stick craft

Last week James and I gathered some sticks from the yard to do a little craft project.

I glued them together to make letters and James did a really good job painting each one.

Yum Yum Yummy Christmas Cookies in My Tummy!

James and I decorated some cookies yesterday. James LOVES sprinkles, so he was elated. He didn't do much decorating though...

Happy Birthday Caleb/Dad!

Today is Caleb's birthday and James decorated his cake all by himself! It turned out really yummy and beautiful! I think he has a career ahead of him.

Eeew Pumpkins

We headed out to the pumpkin patch today so James could pick a couple out. He is getting so funny with getting his pictures taken lately. If I tell him I want to take a picture of him he will totally pose, but he won't look at the camera. I couldn't ask for more if he would just smile and look at the camera LOL!

After we got home, ate some yummy Happy Meals, and took a nap, we decided to carve the pumpkins. Now, When you think of the fun, slimy goop, pumpkin guts and sticky seeds of a pumpkin and throw a little boy in the mix what do you think you would get? A total mess right? Try a boy who would not touch the guts and cleaned out his pumpkin one seed at a time with a spoon. Poor kid was watching Caleb grab hand fulls of the stuff and just sat there quivering. He is a funny kid. I am a horrible mom and towards the end forced his hand in the bowl of guts. He just kind of looked at me in shock. He lived though :)

See the one seed? This whole cleaning out the pumpkin thing only lasted about 10 minutes before he gave up and Caleb had to finish. I was busy sorting the seeds.
