17 months old!

Mr. James Henry is 17 months old today. EEK! Where has the time gone? He is such a fun and happy little guy just curious of how this world works. A little over a week ago he went outside while it was snowing for the first time (minus last year when he was a wee one) He was in utter amazement. "Wow...wow...wow...wow," He continued on while standing and staring up with his arms stiff as a board directly out in front of him opening and closing his fists, trying to feel the snow. I just LOVE how it is the simplest of things that bring them happiness.

Things he is doing:
~ Absolutly loving bath time, just say the word and he is trying to climb in the tub himself.
~ Talking a bunch. My favorite thing, now that I have been working a bit more has been when I leave and he happily waves at me and says bye bye mama. His most comonly used words are: stuck, more, c'mon (said: mon), bwootah...trying to figure this one out still, juice. He says a bunch more, but I am not going to list them.
~He has a really great sense of humor...just a goofy little kid.
~He is a little rebel. When I say something like James don't eat my scarf, he will stop and stare at me and just pretend to do it. Sassy pants :)
~He can sort colors.
~ Attempt the itsy bitsy spider hand motions.
~Still loves bustin a move to any music.
~Plays really well with other kids.
~Sleeping well, minus the night terrors. They scare the crap out of me, but have calmed down lately. He normally sleeps from 7:30p-7:00a. Then a 1.5-2 hour long nap after lunch.

I think that is enough for now, I don't want to bore you. I just like to have this written somewhere!

James Update

James had his 15 month check up on Monday. A little late, but oh well! Here are his stats:

Weight: 24 lbs (50th percentile)
Height: 32 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Head: 18 3/4 inches, I think? I'm horrible I know!

He is all through with his shots until his pre kindergarten ones! My doctor was saying how it will go a lot faster than you think. I don't want it to, it kind of freaks me out to think of him in school. Yikes!

What James has been up to lately:
He is such a busy boy and just seems to run around all day every day. He really likes doing things that are "naughty", he will look directly at Caleb or I with this little up to no good face where his head is down and he is looking up. That doesn't really make much sense so I will try to get a picture sometime.
He is talking a lot. I really think he is talking more than I know, I just don't catch everything he says. I started to keep track of the words he was saying so I actually knew this time at his doctors apt. I stopped after like 40 something words. These are not necessarily words he uses everyday, these are just words he has said. It may sound like a lot, but that is why I started writing them down. If I had not and the doctor asked me how many words, I would probably have said something along the lines of 10 or so. I love asking him questions just about anything and to hear him babble in a language that is so close to English.
He loves cars and airplanes. He could sit, excuse me, run around all day and play with cars. \
He is a wonderful eater (knock on wood) and uses his fork and spoon regularly.
There are more, but I just can't think of them all right now! He is such a big boy!

just cuz

Great face...I love it! He has been quite the little stinker lately. Poor guy is getting two molars right now and his whole inside of his mouth is all chopped up and swollen. He is really starting to be such a funny little kid, making me laugh all day. He is getting to a good age where we can play goofy little made up games. I love games!! I can't wait for Candy Land!

What the lil guy has been up to

James is all over the place these days. Getting into anything he can. I'm pretty sure he thinks me saying no to him is the equivalent to me saying, "Yes James, please stand up on the backside of the couch and jump." or "You should probably play in the garbage, that would be fun!" or "If you are hungry, you can just find little pieces of old food crumbs, paper, or whatever on the floor and eat it." He does listen sometimes, and that is more than what I expect out of him at this age.

He is such a sweet little boy and cuddles with me in the morning before breakfast. He can run now, he is very sturdy on his feet. He goes to bed with no bottle!!!! YAY big boy! We cut him off of it about a month ago now, and he is doing great. He doesn't cry or anything when we put him in his crib, he falls right to sleep! He is doing more and more talking everyday. I was trying to count how many and sitting here right now counting on my fingers, I came up with around 15 words. I am sure there are a couple I am forgetting. He loves other people, when he is in his stroller on a walk, or in the cart at a store, everyone we pass he holds his little hand up and says hi. Quite the socialite! It still amazes me how fast they grow, and he is no exception. He is finally getting some more hair on top and it looks like he is going to have some curls!

I can't believe it's August already...I don't want summer to end!
