Merry Christmas!

Like I had mentioned in my previous post, Caleb had quite the project last night.
My mom got James a train table and he had to put it together! It took about 3 hours! There were a million pieces.
It was really nice once it was finished. I have no idea where we are going to put it though, the thing is huge! :)

Here is James seeing it for the first time. He woke up at 6:30am rip, roarin, and ready to go. In his sleepiness, as he was walking over to it he repeatedly asked what it was even after he knew what it was. He was in shock.

This is one happy little boy. He played with this sucker ALL day today.

Opening his stocking.

Cool. A doctor set. He was so funny and excited when he was opening his presents. He would verbally express his excitement before he even realized what the gift was. He opened a 4 pack of play-doh yelping, " Oh Wow! My cups!" and opened some new jammies while excitedly saying, "Oh, baby sister clothes!" I love Christmas for this very same reason. Kids get so excited.

A very merry tired dad and his Jamesy.

So serious about his train playing duties.

A really yummy breakfast made by Caleb.
We hung out all day in our new jammies playing trains, cars, Candy Land, eating candy, and watching The Wizard of Oz a couple times. What a nice day!

Christmas Eve

Due to the weather, ALL of our Christmas festivities have been cancelled! It is going to be a mellow Christmas around this neck of the woods. We were supposed to go to my aunt's house today, but we just couldn't risk the 45 minute drive in a snow storm. Instead, we headed outside for some sledding action. Thank goodness for strong dads! I tried walking up the hill once and had contractions and got winded so fast. We made some cup cakes for Santa and Caleb made a yummy garlic chicken stir fry. Now we are going to watch A Christmas Story. After James goes to bed Caleb has a big project ahead of him. Click here to reminisce about last year :)

I had my membranes stripped yesterday! I have a feeling it is not going to work, but I asked the magic 8 ball...
Let's see if it's right!

Almost 38 weeks!

This was taken a couple days ago, so I was like 37 1/2 weeks. Sorry about the bare belly, I took this for my own records, but I thought I should post something too :) I go in for my apt tomorrow and I am anxious! I am hoping he is gonna tell me I am 5 cm dilated ands send me off to labor and delivery to brake my water and have a super fast, pain free labor. IN MY DREAMS RIGHT? So at my last apt, last week, my blood pressure was pretty high and I do have some swelling. It is something they are watching, so I will see what's going on tomorrow. He also was thinking that I could have the baby THIS week! I made a to do list for myself and Caleb. We both have been plunking along and crossing stuff off so I have been slowly feeling more prepared! Shouldn't be too much longer!

Confirmation: He is definitely my child :)

So, I am sitting on the computer trying to finish up some photography projects before this baby comes, when James walks in the room looking like this...
He is wearing Baby sister's exercise mat thing. Sporting some cool sponge bob jammies and...

a random band aid on his forehead. He has such style :) He cracks me up daily.

Santa!

James saw Santa yesterday! He was a little nervous when he first saw him and tried hard to avoid him with any excuse possible, needing to go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, or just booking it to the door when he thought we weren't watching. The first time we put him on Santa's lap he sort of turned into a limp noodle and slid down Santa's pants on to the floor. Santa bribed him with a candy cane....good little Santa.

First big snowfall of the year

It started snowing yesterday and continued through the night. We woke up to this...
It is still snowing and I believe we are in for another inch or so today. It is flippin freezing, it is 9* with a windchill of -10* right now. Winds are gusting at 26 mph! It is nippy out!

It has been pretty windy since the storm started. In the above picture you can see the drift in front of our patio door. The blue arrow is pointing to the top of the drift! The red arrow is pointing to snow that is inside the screen door.

Are you sure you are ready for this mom? Rumor has it we may be getting another 7 inches.

Yum Yum Yummy Christmas Cookies in My Tummy!

James and I decorated some cookies yesterday. James LOVES sprinkles, so he was elated. He didn't do much decorating though...
The first cookie.

Happy about first cookie.

Second cookie, and last before he tasted the sticky stuff.

It pretty much went down hill from there.

I did get him to decorate a few :)

Our Christmas Tree...

We put our Christmas tree up on Sunday. James was lovin it and helped put some ornaments on. As you can see, he only stuck to 2 or so branches...there is like 7 ornaments on those 2 branches :)

Big Boy Bed!

Yesterday we finally went out and got James a big boy bed! He was so excited to get it. All he wanted to do was help get it set up and get the sheets and stuff on it. When it was all set up, he played and played on it. He thinks he is the coolest kid in town. Last night was his first night sleeping on it. He did pretty good. He got up 3 or 4 times before falling asleep. The last time he was up I sat outside his door and told him to turn the light off and lay down, and that was it and he was out for the rest of the night. He actually slept in a little this morning too.
