Ada Catherine is here!!

James' baby sister was born last Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 1:05 PM! Weighing 8lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long. Labor was GREAT! So smooth, I woke up at around 2 am with mild contractions about 5 min apart. I took a bath for an hour and a half, woke up Caleb and headed to the hospital. When we got there I was 3 cm dilated. I got into the bath tub there for an hour or so, got out and I was 5 cm dilated. They were coming pretty strong so I got an epidural. I dilated to a 7 right afterwards. I needed to stay on antibiotics for at least four hours so after the epidural we just hung out and waited. After the four hours were up my doctor broke my water. I was at 8 cm for a little while and then went to 10. I pushed for 15 minutes and she was here!

She has a proud big brother! He was pretty excited and the first thing he asked was if she could play cars with him. :)

Almost 38 weeks!

This was taken a couple days ago, so I was like 37 1/2 weeks. Sorry about the bare belly, I took this for my own records, but I thought I should post something too :) I go in for my apt tomorrow and I am anxious! I am hoping he is gonna tell me I am 5 cm dilated ands send me off to labor and delivery to brake my water and have a super fast, pain free labor. IN MY DREAMS RIGHT? So at my last apt, last week, my blood pressure was pretty high and I do have some swelling. It is something they are watching, so I will see what's going on tomorrow. He also was thinking that I could have the baby THIS week! I made a to do list for myself and Caleb. We both have been plunking along and crossing stuff off so I have been slowly feeling more prepared! Shouldn't be too much longer!

A small baby girl celebration with old friends :)

Today James and I went over to an old friends house to have a little celebration of the baby girl brewing inside of me. It was such a nice time! James had lots of fun playing with a super cute set of twins!

A sweet little cake.

Pumpkin Bread

There is something terribly wrong with being pregnant right now...call it bad timing. For those women who are thinking about getting pregnant, here is my advice to you:
  • Try avoid being pregnant the month of October. OH and I am sure November and December too for obvious weight gain reasons.
  • Don't be pregnant when McDonalds is having their Monopoly games going on.
  • Don't be pregnant during Halloween...unless you hate chocolate and all other sweets.
  • Do I really need to say anything about November and December?
  • Try to be pregnant when it is nice outside. You are more active this way and are more used to walking around so you don't get winded when you end up bringing your 2 year old trick or treating.

And for those of us who are pregnant and have binged on crap like myself here is a guilt free treat. (Just ignore the nuts in it and the butter I caked on it)

Yummy pumpkin bread! This pumpkin bread is fat free and made with some wheat flour. The only butter in it is the butter you see on top :) To my surprise it is VERY good. A pregnant gal needs her treats, but I had to do something since I ran out of Halloween candy am feeling a bit guilty about eating some sweets. The recipe is HERE. I cut it in half and only made one loaf.

The time has come.

It's official! The day has come. I have successfully reached the point of not being comfortable- period. It was actually 2 days ago this happened. It wasn't a gradual hill into uncomfortablism either, it more like a cliff I was pushed of off. I am pretty sure that day, from the time I woke up to about 10pm, when the only place I could have an ounce of comfort was in the bath tub, I had to have gained a good 25 lbs. Yes, in a matter of 15 hours I HAD to have gained 25 lbs. There is no other logical reason why I could have felt the way I did. Oh and I had to have gained it all in my tummy too.
I went from not really being able to see my feet, to not at all being able to see my 2 year old who was standing in front of me. All of the sudden I can hardly reach the sink faucet to do the dishes due to my protruding mid section.
I went from bending over makes it a little difficult to breathe, to bending over causes beautiful shades of blue- in my face. It took me a good half hour just to clean up the toys on the floor.
It just amazes me how one day you can go from sometimes forgetting you are pregnant, to wondering how I am still standing up right and not toppling over face first all the time. I mean isn't this defying the laws of gravity?
Here is my first bare belly shot with this little nugget. I did only bare belly with James. It is funny because I didn't really have to edit the stretch marks from this picture like I did with all of the ones of James. I had so much extra skin this time around I haven't got one new stretch mark! So far anyway :)

I can complain and joke all I want to, but we all know it is totally worth it in the end!
p.s. I am having a baby next month!

25 weeks

She's a growing girl! I went in for my monthly doctors apt. on Friday. Everything is looking great so far, no concerns! Thank goodness! Her heartbeat is was 150 bpm.

I have been feeling those fake contractions pretty good now for the last 3 weeks or so. It is kind of strange since I never had braxton hicks with James. Call me silly but I watch a Baby Story on TLC pretty much everyday when James is taking his naps. This probably isn't the best thing to do since I get at least a few contractions while I am watching it LOL! I know I need to stop watching that dang show soon. I just can't stop!

I have also been having increased heartburn, back problems, INCREASED HUNGER, you know, the normal pregnancy symptoms at this time. I am not complaining. Well, don't ask Caleb that question.

The last picture I posted on here I was just shy of 19 weeks. The belly is growing! It is funny how similar the pics are...click HERE to see it.

It's amazing how fast time is going and how I just feel like I have all this time to get ready for the babe. Then I was looking through some pregnancy pics from last time and my stomach dropped a little when I realized that I could look like this (or bigger...eeeee gad) in 10 weeks...

Yep, that is me 35 weeks prego with James! In 10 short weeks I can look like this. Which then means in 15 short weeks I could have a new little baby. Yes, this is going to go by WAY faster than I am thinking it is going to.

Almost 19 weeks!!!

Wow, this is going fast! I will be 19 weeks on Friday. This picture looks exactly like the last one I posted. I am ready to look pregnant so I don't feel so disgusting and fat.
In two weeks from yesterday, the 17th, we will (hopefully, if babe cooperates) be finding out if the lil peanut is a boy or girl!! Lots of people think it is a girl, but I am thinking a boy. Caleb's family doesn't make girls :) I am going to put a poll on the sidebar so make your guesses!

Jumping into my second trimester, I was so excited to start feeling better and have more energy. Thus far, that hasn't been the case. I am still tired all the time and actually have been nauseated again! What the heck? In the last week my sciatic nerve has been driving me crazy too. What the heck? With James I was deathly ill for the whole first trimester. I swear it was like the 1st day of the 2nd I was miraculously better and had tons of energy. It's funny how you think after having the first pregnancy the second would just be the same. It is amazing how different they can be.

My food cravings have been funny this time around. As I am typing this my mouth is all chopped up from eating a small box of sour patch kids. It's like I crave extreme flavors. Sour...lemons, limes, sour candies. Then on the other end of the spectrum spicy, spicy, spicy...jalapenos and crushed red pepper on everything. It's a good thing I haven't started getting heartburn yet :) With James I craved salty things like green olives and yellow mustard. I also ate at subway at least once a week.

Please remember to take your guess at the poll!

I love leftovers...normally

Warning: If you get nauseous easily please stop reading...there maybe some disturbing photos ahead :) This is what you are getting this time around for belly pics...I will post ocassional pics of me in this dress maybe?
So here I am 23 weeks pregnant with James...

sweeties and doctors apts

These two are so sweet together. Ahhh I could just eat them up!
On Monday James and I both went in for a doc apt. Him for his 2 year well check up and me for my second prenatal visit.
James stats:
Weight- 26.4lbs (35th percentile)
Height- 35 inches (75th percentile)
Tall and skinny, don't mind me any. At least I don't have to worry about childhood obesity! :) I know he eats, he is just extremely active. He looks good in all other aspects too.
My stats:
Weight- ha ha ha Yeah right
Baby's heart rate- 170 bpm! Wow, definitely higher than James' ever was. His was always in the 140-150 range!
Everything is going well with the pregnancy so far, everything is looking good.

Baby Numero Dos

I didn't really want to post much until I had my first doctor's visit. I went in on Monday morn. It went very good and everything is looking good so far! There is definitely a babe in there! I got a picture to prove it:
There is the babe and my yolk sac, that doesn't sound gross or anything. I had my ultrasound pretty early so that is why:
A. The baby looks like a blob. If you look hard enough though (his head is down, so he is upside down) I think it looks like a tiny person wearing a construction hat and boots. Maybe that is just me?
B. You can see the yolk sac. This normally disappears pretty early so you don't normally see it in U/S pics.

She took baby's heart beat twice, the first time it was 150 and the second time it was 143. James' was right around this too. Nice and healthy. Yipee!

Oh my due date is 1/1/10! Kinda cool. The nurse was saying they give away pretty nice prizes to babies born on this day. Count me in for fun and games! Even though I think all labor and deliveries should include some nice prizes! Yes, I know the baby is more than anything anyone could ever give me for a prize, but a random prize would be fun.

I have been feeling relatively OK. SUPER tired and a little nauseous, but if that's the worst of it I will take it! I was really sick with James for a few weeks straight. It was a nightmare. I haven't been an emotional wreck like last time either. I should be ending all these sentences with a NOT YET ANYWAYS. I am still not very far a long and these things could pop out tomorrow for all I know. If you are bored and up for some stories about my vomiting and crazy emotions from the last pregnancy click on the previous words. You know you want to read them.

And to save everyone else from vomiting while reading my blog, unlike last time, I will be holding off on belly pics for a long time. Trust me, you don't want to see it now!

As for names, I am stumped and will be for the entire pregnancy. If you ever hear any cute names please feel free to drop on by and comment with lots of names. I am going to need help!

There is my baby update and I will update more when I know more!
