Last Wednesday

I get these ideas in my head of fun things to do with the kids. As the weather gets warmer, I conduct a list of super fun things I want to do, time passes and winter rolls around again. I really want to make it a point to actually do some of these things. I am thinking every Wednesday I am going to get out with the kids and do these things. Unlike a lot of my other plans, I hope this one actually sticks. Last Wednesday I took the kids, spur of the moment, to the Como Zoo and the fun didn't end there. Photobucket This was Ada's first time at the Zoo. We saw the monkeys first. The second we walked through the door to the monkeys, Ada started yelling with joy. Photobucket They had this really cool tropical exibit going on at the time. It felt so so so good, the heat and humidity. It just so happened at the time we were walking through the exibit there was a zoo lady talking about amphibians. James stood and listened with all his little heart. Ada was a little antsy at this point so I turned her around facing a tank full of tropical fish. The lady was taking about frogs. She presented this little black and blue frog. There were quite a few other kids there listening as well, she asked if we had frogs that were black and green in Minnesota. Everyone quietly answered with a no. She then asked what color the frogs in Minnesota generally were. Nothing but silence, until a couple seconds later when Ada yelled out, "GEEEN." Ha Ha! I am almost positive she wasn't really answering the question. But man alive, it was funny. The lady asked if she just said green. It was pretty funny. Photobucket After our zoo venture, we ran to Target and bought some lunch stuff and went to a park and had a little picnic lunch. We had a little friend that tried to find some dropped food. The kids loved it. We then played on the swings for a bit and went on our way. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket I love that the ground of the playground was made out of recycled tires. So cool and cushy. Photobucket Photobucket After the park we headed over to my friend Tiffany's house for a little play date. Ada was right in there with the big kids playing. Ugh, my baby is becoming a not-so baby. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket The fun doesn't end there. While at Tiffany's I noticed something behind Ada's ear. A big a$$ wood tick. Yuck. Gross. Ick. The head was nice and stuck in. I ended up bringing her in to the urgent care to get removed. I am REALLY hoping this isn't a sign of things to come this summer. We came back home and within 15 minutes, this was James... Photobucket
What a fun, eventful day we had! Love it!
I had another fun adventure planed today, but sickness in the house forced us to stay home and cuddle. Well, besides the 3 hours spent at the doctor's office and pharmacy. Ada has some sort of virus and Strep. She is miserable. :(

call us crazy...call us what you will

Tiff and I took 6 kids to the zoo. I think that's all I really need to say about that.
Nah, it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be...they are all great kids, for the most part :)

Karl Oskar Days '09

This past weekend was Karl Oskar Days, a weekend of festivities in the town I grew up in. James had loads of fun rockin it into all hours of the night. My friend Tiffany lives right on the parade route so that is awesome...no diaper changes in the mist of crowds of people necessary. This was James' 3rd Karl Oskar parade, you can see pics from the first here and the second here. What was different about this one was he was actually kickin it curb side and able to grab and eat the candy thrown.

Being such a good boy and patiently waiting for the parade to start with his buds Ro-Ro and Kylee.

Fighting for their lives for candy. James had this weird thing about only picking up tootsie rolls for a while...that passed, he must have just known I love tootsie rolls!

Doing a little jig for the fire fighters

Our Candy Queen. This little pip squeak was the quickest candy picker upper ever! Now that I just looked back at last years post on the parade, apparently she gets this from her sister :)

The parade was Saturday and yesterday we went back for more fun. We saw some live music and fireworks.
The kids (James, Jaden, Kenzie, Kylee) plopped on the ground eating some delicious treats before the fireworks.

James and Kylee diggin the live band. They danced their hearts out.

The band was a Beatles tribute band called A Hard Days Night. They were really fun.

We tried to go sit down to get ready for the fireworks, but James wouldn't let me :)

Finally, we saw a great fireworks show...we had the best seats in the house!

summer summer summer

I am a little slow, but these are pics from last week. Last Thursday, we went over to my friend Tiff's house to play in the sun a bit.
James and Kylee playin in the pool.

This is Lucy. I could very well eat her to pieces. She is Tiffany's sister Amber's friend Gina's little girl. Did you follow?

Then on Friday we headed down to my grandma's house for some pool time. It was nice!
My cousins Jasper, Ivy, Roxanne (James and I) and Violet

We had a little swimming friend

sweeties and doctors apts

These two are so sweet together. Ahhh I could just eat them up!
On Monday James and I both went in for a doc apt. Him for his 2 year well check up and me for my second prenatal visit.
James stats:
Weight- 26.4lbs (35th percentile)
Height- 35 inches (75th percentile)
Tall and skinny, don't mind me any. At least I don't have to worry about childhood obesity! :) I know he eats, he is just extremely active. He looks good in all other aspects too.
My stats:
Weight- ha ha ha Yeah right
Baby's heart rate- 170 bpm! Wow, definitely higher than James' ever was. His was always in the 140-150 range!
Everything is going well with the pregnancy so far, everything is looking good.

Tha Zooizle...What up?

Tiff and I took the girls and James to the Como Zoo today. It was kind of gloomy, cool day, so we figured it would be quiet with no one there. Apparently, everyone else thought that too :) We had fun anyway! Thank you Tiffany for driving AGAIN! Get ready for lots of pics!

Sweet Kylee

The cutest little baby monkey.

Mama and babe

COTTON CANDY IS YUMMY!!

3 cheers for cotton candy!!

Hip Hip Horrah!

This was the point where James was not allowed out of his stroller. I don't really blame him, but he didn't want to be in it. I did, however. He threw a big tantrum when I put him back in his stroller the first time and quite frankly I didn't want to relive the moment. Sorry punkin!

Roar!

Kenz and James looking at the lions.

Kenz, Tiff, and Kylee. Good gravy wonder where the good looks come from in those precious girly girls?

Miss Kenzie

Wired on cotton candy with a giraffe.

Sparky! It's amazing how old this sea lion must be. I saw him when I was a peanut and so did my mom! :) There was this really really old sea lion in a different tank and I was thinking that it's possible that was my sparky. Who knows. Sorry mom, but it probably isn't yours :)

Parky Parky as James yelled for him.
