A day I could re-live over and over
I had one of those days yesterday. It was perfect.
I had 2 photo sessions the first half of the day, picked up Subway, came home and ate, and away we went.

This wasn't planned, it just happened. I think that added to the wonderfulness of it. We threw the kids in the stroller, strapped them in, grabbed a bag full of just-in-case items and ventured downtown to get some ice cream. Yummo.

It was such a beautiful day too. It was warm, but not too warm. After ice cream, we walked across the St. Croix River bridge into Wisconsin. We ended up in the Interstate park and kept on a truckin.

This lead us to a beach where some of those just-in-case items came into use. James has been asking and begging every nice day to go to the beach. I really didn't think the water was going to be warm enough, but to our surprise, it was perfect! Being at the beach, we had a little bit of this...

Chubby baby girl swimsuit body. Last summer she wasn't walking yet, so this was her first real experience of walking around and playing in the water. It was a hit for sure.

Then to the park for some swings and slides.

James insisted on wearing this paper mask, ring, and arm cuff most of the day. He did look pretty cool.

Dinner time! We headed over to the Drive In for some yummy burgers and root beer. It wouldn't have been a fun adventurous day if we didn't find a wood tick on someone. We got really lucky this time and found a deer tick stuck in behind Ada's ear again. I hate them. Gross.

With a full belly we headed home and hung out in the yard a bit, played with the hose and rolled in the grass. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!! We ended the day with some warm baths and comfy jammies! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Day 7 blog challenge
Day 7 - a photo that makes you happy
I am a photographer, so most pictures make me happy...I love pictures! I love looking at pictures of complete strangers. So, I guess pictures that make me most happy are those of my kids. I thought I would share some new pics from the other day when we went to the park. This was actually Ada's first time in a swing and she LOVED it!

Bayfield July 09
Aren't mini getaways fun? Relaxing? This one was no exception! We headed up to Bayfield, WI to visit Caleb's dad and take in the beautiful scenery on Friday at around nap time. Traffic wasn't too bad and it was a beautiful day to be driving. We got there 3 hours later and just hung out that night and had some great food. The great food thing continues through out our whole stay. OH YUM!
Since the last time we were up there, which actually has been exactly a year, Caleb's dad and wife got a few new pets. Some birds. James loved playing with them, he thought it was hilarious!

That night Caleb's dad Randy and his wife Terri definitely pulled out no stops when it came to playing up the whole Grandparent thing:

The Bayfield marina, This is they view from a road right by Grandma and Grandpa's house. They have a great view!
On the 4th we went out for breakfast, more great food! I took this pic of James and I in my spoon while we were waiting for our food.
We went to Big Sand Bay, A beautiful beach on Lake Superior. I really wish we would have brought our swim suits, it was so hot there is no doubt about it where I would have been.
This is a pic of Caleb throwing a rock in the water, I thought it was kinda cool. Look how clear the water is.
James didn't really care that he didn't bring his trucks, nor did he care the water was a bit on the chilly side.

I didn't take any pics of the fireworks. I was just more interested in watching James watch the fireworks for the first time. He LOVED them. Around dinner time I was explaining to him what we were going to do and see. I told him when they went up into the air we would say

Here is Grandpa playing cars with James when he should have been sleeping. They are great loving people. I love that! It is so fun for me (and James too I'm sure) to see James with his grandparents. He has 7 grandparents and never sees any of them! Some here, some there, and some even out of the country.

So when showtime came, even with out my cue or without anyone else saying anything, he went on with the ooohs and ahhhs. Peanut punkin head! It was really nice because we didn't have to deal with tons of people and all that chaos. We were able to watch them right from Caleb's dad's deck! It was really nice!
This is the car Caleb wants...yeah right :)

Photo of the Week
James and I did the child equivalent to bar hopping and stopped at a few different parks last Thursday. The weather was so nice, which is a nice change from the days before where the highs were only 40 or so. There was one park injury though. And boy oh boy did it hurt. That's what ya get for going down the slide while staring at a large sign stating the park was made for children 12 and under. My elbow hurt for a few days after that one.
Here are some more pics from our park hopping day...
