A day I could re-live over and over

I had one of those days yesterday. It was perfect.
I had 2 photo sessions the first half of the day, picked up Subway, came home and ate, and away we went.

This wasn't planned, it just happened. I think that added to the wonderfulness of it. We threw the kids in the stroller, strapped them in, grabbed a bag full of just-in-case items and ventured downtown to get some ice cream. Yummo.

It was such a beautiful day too. It was warm, but not too warm. After ice cream, we walked across the St. Croix River bridge into Wisconsin. We ended up in the Interstate park and kept on a truckin.

This lead us to a beach where some of those just-in-case items came into use. James has been asking and begging every nice day to go to the beach. I really didn't think the water was going to be warm enough, but to our surprise, it was perfect! Being at the beach, we had a little bit of this...

Chubby baby girl swimsuit body. Last summer she wasn't walking yet, so this was her first real experience of walking around and playing in the water. It was a hit for sure.

Then to the park for some swings and slides.

James insisted on wearing this paper mask, ring, and arm cuff most of the day. He did look pretty cool.

Dinner time! We headed over to the Drive In for some yummy burgers and root beer. It wouldn't have been a fun adventurous day if we didn't find a wood tick on someone. We got really lucky this time and found a deer tick stuck in behind Ada's ear again. I hate them. Gross.

With a full belly we headed home and hung out in the yard a bit, played with the hose and rolled in the grass. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!! We ended the day with some warm baths and comfy jammies! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

brrrrr it's kinda cold

Today James and I hung out with my friend (and Caleb's sister) Beka and her sweet baby boy Ezra (James' cousin). We headed down to the local Bakery, Rocky River Bakery for the best dang sandwiches ever. Beka and I used to go their for their sandwiches all the time, so it was really nice to go back there with her and of course enjoy our bakery sandwich. Afterwards we headed down to the river...there were some photos to be taken. Of course I didn't have my camera because apparently my new thing is always forgetting it. Ezra is so sweet and cute and Beka is such a great mommy to her new little guy.

Here are the cousins playing in a pile of leaves

and James
James had something going on with his hair. There was this weird curl right in the front, all it reminded me of was Hermie the elf who wanted to be a dentist from the old school Rudolph movie. Remember him?

Also, for those of you who wanted to know, this is the pattern I used for the hat I made. SUPER easy!! let me know if anyone ventures it...I wanna see pics :)

Parks and Mushrooms

What do you do when you feel like you have been sitting around the house for too many consecutive hours? Why, go to the park silly! That right there is exactly what we did. Put on our sweatshirts and headed to the park. The weather was quite cool today. I really really wish I could just blink my eyes or wiggle my knows and spring would be here. I am SO dreading winter. It wouldn't be so bad if it was so blustery cold for only a few months, but living in MN we get what feels like 792 months of so cold the inside of your nose freezes the second you open the door. Wow, I am really looking forward to that! I can't think about that right now. I am enjoying our beautifully cool weather. Here are some pictures from today.

Strolling down the road in the ditch were these crazy mushrooms, I felt like I was in Alice in Wonderland. They were big.

Mismatched Grouchy Gym Teacher

If I could choose any day, weather wise, that I have lived in my life to live everyday for the rest of my life today would have been the day. I am pretty sure that was the most confusing sentence I have ever written, just go with it.

PERFECT weather, absolutely gorgeous! We went on a walk and headed to our little park. We had a little difficulty with nap time today, and it ended up only lasting 45 minutes or so. He was a tad grouchy, but still had a lot of fun.
For the record, I did not intentionally dress him in this outfit. He was in these super cute overalls, spilled on them, and I grabbed the nearest pair of clean pants.
A little excited for his park.

Diggin around in my camera bag.

Getting a little sleepy on the stroll home. Sweet heart.

I know they are ugly as sin, but feel like heaven to my feet. I love my bright green Crocs. Can't beat brand new for $5.00 from Goodwill either! I really think everyone needs a pair, you are missing out if you don't have some!! Just to let you know :)

Sticky Balls

Nope, I'm not talking about the dilemma guys get in the heat of the summer. I am talking about these:

They are what my family and I now as sticky balls.

James and I went on our daily walk today, when all of the sudden I caught something very familiar out of the corner of my eye. There were two just lying on the gravel in between the pavement of the road and the grass from a neighbors yard. Immediately, memories started racing through my mind.

In the front yard of the house I pretty much grew up in, there was a huge kind of ugly tree. It produced these green, very sticky pod things. The tree was conveniently located right next to the little walk way that went from our front door to the driveway. They were also known as death balls. There was countless times I would almost trip and fall from them. My mom actually did sprain her ankle on one once. My dad had/has this throwing fetish. He throws EVERYTHING, and has as long as I have known him, this is in a playful way, not a mean way :) So I have been hit by the sticky balls pretty often too. (I am thinking that is where James learned his new little naughty habit of throwing things.) They were so sticky. I remember once going to school and sitting at my desk and looking down at my feet and I had a sticky ball stuck to the side of my foot.

Isn't it amazing how such a weird random thing can throw so many thoughts and memories in your head?

Here are some pics of James from that same walk...

vacation, birthday, picture overload

I am finally back to blogging! My mom just left this morning :( My sister and Dean are here until Wed, then all of the fun will be over! We had an awesome past week! We were up at my aunt Amy's beautiful cabin most of last week. We came home Friday, got ready for James' b-day party, and had a very nice little party with family on Sat. I could not have asked for a better time. The weather thankfully cooperated and it was beautiful the whole time my mom was here. I am going to add some pics and try not to put too many up. I downloaded pics from my camera, and my sister's camera and it was close to 700 pictures!! She is a little crazy when it comes to the camera too!

Here is Amy's beautiful cabin, I could easlily live there :)
Here is our little family...

James in his little buggy thing
I made easy mac for the first time and this is the way the noodles came out. Maybe this is normal, but it fascinated me so I had to take a picture!
